Mobile Passport App and Global Entry
I just
downloaded the app and completed my profile; the process was easy and I
am hoping that it will be advantageous on our upcoming flights
when going through Customs! You can enter information for those who are
traveling on the flight with you.
If you don't have Global Entry, then this looks like a great substitute. I plan to enroll in Global Entry, but at the moment, the only airport that has an enrollment center in North Carolina is Charlotte; you would need to apply first and once accepted, schedule an interview at your nearest Enrollment Center (see the website for locations)..
U.S. Customs and Border Control, CBP, launched Mobile Passport Control (MPC), the first authorized app to expedite a traveler’s entry process into the United States. This app lets you skip the lines at certain US airports (and the list of airports is growing). You complete your profile information (which can be re-used for future trips) and once you're registered you can go to the Mobile Passport Control Express Lane at the airport. Current airports include: Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Ft. Lauderdale, Miami, Minneapolis, NY JFK, Newark, Orlando, RaleighDurham, San Francisco, San Jose, Seattle, Tampa (soon), and Washington Dulles.
Click here to download the Mobile Passport App or just download on the App Store (Apple) or on Google Play. Here are the steps listed on the website:
Step 1:
Enter your profile information as it appears on your valid,
official passport. You can set up profiles for your entire family.
Your information will be encrypted and shared only with CBP.
Step 2:
Answer CBP’s four brief questions about your trip. Then carefully review ALL of your information for the trip.

Submit To CBP
Once you land, connect to wireless or wi-fi and submit your data to CBP. Remember: when you submit, you are confirming under penalty of law that your information is correct. Within a few seconds, you will receive a CBP receipt with an encrypted barcode. Your receipt will be valid for 4 hours.Step 4:
Skip The Line & save time!
Follow the MOBILE PASSPORT CONTROL signs and skip the lines! Show your passport to the CBP officer and scan the barcode on the CBP receipt. And that’s it!Monday, April 10, 2017
Another Merrytimers Adventure! Mark your calendars for January 2019!
Note from Sue: Greetings!
Yes, it's another MERRYTIMERS Adventure. New
Zealand/Australia - the destination. January, 2019 - the timing.

So now for a bit about the cruise!
The Celebrity Cruise aboard the Solstice departs from Auckland, NZ on January 17, 2019. Its a 14 night cruise and covers several ports in NZ. It ends in Sydney, Australia. Plans would be to extend for a few days or so to take advantage of some beautiful and interesting sites in and around Sydney.
This cruise takes you to a new world and, yes, the plane
ride is a bit overwhelming. However, I must say that it's not that bad.
(comparing this flight to and from Asia.). In fact the flight over
is easier than anticipated and you gain time-16 hours to be exact. The
flight back is shorter in flight time, but the jet lag does catch up with
you...worth it in the long run.
We certainly hope you can join the Merrytimers. Of course, it goes without
saying that our group can certainly enjoy being together. Once again, you
can do your own thing aboard ship or touring the country and/or join the group
for Happy Hours and Dining.
